The “T” shape stands for “technical” and “tactical”. As a T-shaped marketer, we should have a strong foundation in technical marketing skills, but we should also be well-rounded enough to understand and execute tactical marketing initiatives.
Technical skills include things like SEO, Paid Ads, social media marketing and website design/development. Tactical skills include things like email marketing, content marketing, lead generation, and PR/communications. The best way to develop a portfolio as a T-shaped marketer is to focus on developing your technical skills first, and then gradually build out your tactical skillset over time. This will allow you to become an expert in one area while also being able. The reason being a T-shaped marketer is something all expert marketers strive for is because it allows them to do more as a marketer. It gives them a basic understanding of all the necessary parts of marketing (like SEO, funnels, social media, influencer campaigns, etc.) and creates a cohesive marketing strategy.
I have illustrated my own T shape framework where I focus to become an expert in Paid Ads & Conversion Rate Optimization. Besides, I must have the Base Knowledge & Marketing Foundation on few fields. What about you?
